It’s time for another HvA Pride get-together. 🍻 🍹
This time in a very special place: Café 't Mandje. The café has been around since 1927, making it one of the oldest LGBTQIA-friendly places in the Netherlands. Owner Bet van Beeren was a legendary manageress. In a leather jacket she raced through the city on her motorcycle, sometimes with a new conquest on her back. ‘t Mandje was one of the first pubs where gay men and lesbian women did not have to hide their sexuality. It is in the Canon of Amsterdam as a symbol of tolerance throughout the ages. 🏳️🌈
Please note: it is a cozy, but small café, so full = full.
As usual, the first drink is on us.
See you then! ❤️
